Andrea Bocelli reveals desire to work with Taylor Swift to impress daughter Virginia, 12, as he says a duet with the pop megastar ‘could be a great thing’
Andrea Bocelli has revealed he would like to work with Taylor Swift, to impress his self-confessed Swifite daughter.
The Italian tenor, 65, has worked alongside a slew of famous singers, including Ed Sheeran, Shania Twain, Nelly Furtado, Jennifer Lopez and Mary J. Blige.
But his daughter Virginia, 12, has admitted that she hopes that the next artist he works with is pop superstar, Taylor.
The father and daughter spoke to The Mirror ahead of Andrea’s BST Hyde Park show on Friday night.
And when asked what star she would want her dad to duet with, Virgina said: ‘I love Taylor Swift and am going to one of her concerts in a few days. It would be amazing if he worked with her next.’

Andrea admitted that he could see the potential of duetting with the world’s biggest pop star, saying: ‘I’ve thought about it and it could be a great thing.’
Virginia, who the legendary singer shares with wife Veronica Berti, has followed in her famous father’s footsteps and become a talented singer in her own right.
Andrea gushed to the publication that he loves to hear his daughter sing, but also is determined not to put pressure on her.
He said: ‘When she sings it makes me very happy. Children have to be free, and I hope that when she is older, she does what her heart tells her.’
While despite her young age, Virginia said that she doesn’t get stage fright performing with her dad.
She said: ‘It’s pretty much normal [singing with my dad]… I usually do at least one or two songs and have got used to it now.’
The father-daughter duo performed an emotional rendition of Bambina Mia on Wednesday during an appearance on Loose Women.
Speaking to the panel, Virginia recalling the first time she sang alongside Andrea, saying: ‘I think the first time was when I was 8-years-old in Palma.

‘I wasn’t supposed to sing. I’m not sure how it happened.’
Andrea added: ‘I had to sing Hallelujah and it has a lot of English words so I asked Virginia to learn the song to sing it with me.’
Speaking about their choice of the song Bambina Mia, Virginia explained it has a special meaning, that makes her emotional.
She said: ‘The song is about a dad who is talking to his daughter about life and love. I got emotional when I was recording it, it took a long time to record it because I was bawling then my dad noticed and made fun of me.’
Ahead of his show on Friday, Andrea continued: ‘It was a dream come true for me to finally play Hyde Park.’
The international superstar will be joined by UK’s most in-demand orchestra The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by talented Michele Spotti.
The conductor, 31, has been Musical Director of Marseille’s Opera House and Philharmonic Orchestra since 2023.
Compered by TV favourite Myleene Klass, the incredible festival day will also see performances by the likes of Nadine Sierra, Isabel Leonard, Luca Micheletti as well as a choir by Crouch End Festival Chorus.

As well as Virginia, Andrea also shares sons Amos, 29, and Matteo, 26, with his first wife, Enrica Cenzatti, 53, who he was married to from 1992 until 2002 (pictured in 1997)
He brings together some of the most talented opera performs, who will be gracing Hyde Park’s stage.

The superstar Italian tenor was joined by Matteo as they sang his classic ‘Time to Say Goodbye’ together and honoured a number of late stars who died in the last year.
Both Matteo and Virginia joined their father for his album, A Family Christmas, which features a whole host of festive favourites with the singer gushing ‘there’s nothing more beautiful than making music with your kids’.
